Laura has planned and designed interiors for
Manchester Manors Arbors of Hopebrook,
Manchester CT. For the Heritage Village
Retirement Community, she developed a
three-year master plan to refurbish and
upgrade the public interior. Laura has also
completed a master suite addition for a
pre-retirement couple with the focus on
their special aging needs.
Before forming FX Design Inc. in 1991, Laura
was a Senior Interior Designer for six
years, at Aetna Life and Casualty,
Facilities Planning and Architecture. Her
responsibilities included the interior
design of all senior executive offices,
corporate health & fitness centers.
Laura graduated from the University of
Houston in 1982 with a Bachelors of Fine
Arts degree in Interior Design. She is a
State of Connecticut registered Interior
Designer, a professional member and past
president, 2006-2007 for the American
Society of Interior Designers, Connecticut
chapter. For seven years she served as a
member of the Architectural Licensing Board
for the State of Connecticut.
Laura also has donated her design expertise
as Chairwomen to a number of community
service projects:
Sunshine House Comfort Care for Children
with Life Threatening Diseases,
Covenant To Care for Children, the
Bridge Youth Shelter in West Hartford, the
American Heart Association, Easter Seal, CT.
